Windows doesn't actually allow us to pin a .pdf or .docx or .xlsx file to task-bar, rather they are pinned to the application they belong to.
Here is a way to pin a file directly to the task-bar.. Let's call it a One-Click-File-Shortcut-Pin-To-Task-bar.

- Locate the file which you want to pin to the task-bar.
- Create a shortcut to this file on the Desktop.
- Right-Click on the shortcut and open the properties.
- In the field Target, add explorer in the beginning of the path.
- Now drag this shortcut to the task-bar and voila, your One-Click-File-Shortcut-Pin-To-Task-bar is created.
